I shot a doe Saturday evening at 3:40 under a persimmon tree on some delta public land. I watched her make a death run south of me and then fishhook back towards me and straight into a deep slough. After verifying the best I could that she didn't come out of the slough I left and went back Sunday morning to hunt and look again. After my hunt I went back to the last blood to see if by chance she was floating and the pic below is how I found her. I got wet for the second time in two days getting her out, but it was worth it. Entry shot was high, but exit was good. photo 5A9BEF6C-1924-4619-99F9-A228CDD194BD_zpssudlwwyq.jpg photo 1A2F3A68-4F5F-49E9-A875-0DFD428CF88F_zpswfdejfyg.jpg

Ha!! I just waded on out there. Those old sloughs make me a little nervous due to the old gum stumps. You can step off in some and get hung up or worse......float your hat!! I had my phone in my chest pocket just in case!!
